The lion head finial on this single Hellenistic gold earring is mounted above a hoop made of thick spirally wound wire that gathers into a pointed extension that fits into the lion's mouth.  The lion head finial, exquisirely modeled and exceptionally rich in detail is fitted over the hoop and the joint hidden by a fine petaled collar.

Condition:   Intact.  Very fine workmanship
